FLAVORS + SCENTS OF GUATEMALA

SALSA VERDE, COFFEE, + CANDLES

Our salsa is made with THE chiltepe PEPPER and green mango, both native to Guatemala, AND MADE here in Chicago. Our coffee is ethically sourced from family in Guatemala and blended with cardamom as an homage to the volcanic region where it’s grown. And our candles capture the essence of OUR COUNTRY, filling your space with the scents that define Guatemala.

CENIZAS CANDLE MADE IN CHICAGO

CANDLES

We are the first to create a Guatemalan-inspired candle line. There’s nothing like stepping off the plane in Guatemala—walking out of the airport and taking that first breath of Guatemalan air. We wanted to capture that feeling and turn it into scent. Our collection brings it to life through Cenizas, Volcán, Kape (coffee), Jade (the Mayan imperial stone), Ponche (a traditional Christmas drink), and Pino. This line will continue to grow—for our people and for our country.

ABOUT LOS GIRON

IMG_1068.JPG

FROM CHICAGO + guatemalan

Hey everyone! We’re Valeska and Manuel Giron, a husband-and-wife team from Chicago with proud Guatemalan roots. Our journey began when we met on Ohio Street Beach in chicago in 2019. Later, we moved to Antigua, Guatemala, where we deepened our connection to our heritage, falling in love with the traditions, culture, and people.

Inspired by this experience, we returned to Chicago to launch Giron Guatemalan Apparel and Home. We were frustrated by seeing our culture MISREPRESENTED, SO we decided to take ownership of our narrative. Our mission is to preserve and celebrate the artistry, craftsmanship, and cultural traditions passed down through generations. We believe it’s time for people of color to take the lead in elevating and sharing their own cultures.

MANUEL GIRON

our business includes our family

"Did you know? Our business is truly a family effort! Our coffee is sourced from my brother, Leonardo Giron, a fellow Chicagoan who moved to Guatemala and now runs P14 Coffee. Our textiles are woven and sewn in Guatemala by my sister-in-law, Averie Floyd, and her team at Casa Flor Designs. My incredible mother, Rosa, a seamstress with over 40 years of experience, meticulously crafts our pillows. our mugs are made by my cousin Giovanna and her husband Noel, whose business, Ordo Tools, is based in Denver, Colorado. my amazing wife Valeska giron, is the graphic designer, interior designer, + photographer and so many other things behind our brand. Working with family is a privilege, and I am incredibly grateful for their support."
