In the height of the pandemic, we sold our home. Packed everything up, and moved to Antigua, Guatemala. Being newlyweds, we didn't want to wait until retirement to live the life we both wanted to live. We were both born on the Northside of Chicago, of Guatemalan descent, and Guatemala was a place we both wanted to live. In a short time, we learned so much about ourselves. We instantly fell in love with our culture, way of life, the beauty of Guatemala and the textiles. Girón Apparel and Home was born out of our kitchen in Antigua, Guatemala in 2021, with one pair of shorts.
